Is ok to let another blog use your content?

  1. @raincoaster Hyperventilating is right.

Ironically I was trying to have a policy that required attribution but still allowed sharing. I still don't know how I made such a huge mistake. I had some reblogging going on and I was trying to be smart.

Once my event is over today this is top on my list. I like the copyright notice on timethiefs page, I have a friend in the business that will hopefully be able to help me craft one.

Seems silly - two months ago I was upset because I have gone three weeks with not a single view. This blogging thing is not for sissys.

  2. You should be able to get that from Creative Commons. It's a standard type of CC licensing, so look around their site. They have several different options.

  3. In fact, that's what you already HAD:

Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.

is what you say you had. That means they can copy it WITH attribution and they're not allowed to tinker with it, nor to make money from it.

This still means they don't need to ask your permission; you've given it, subject to those conditions.

I don't know what you want. If you want people ALWAYS to have to ask you, then you want an All Rights Reserved; Please Contact for Permissions kind of copyright.

I like the copyright notice on timethiefs page

If you wish you can use it. Provided you leave the credit links intact and also add a credit link my copyright page, then I hereby give you permission to use it on your own blog.

  5. Thank you both of you - I am so overwhelmed by the support here - you have kept me from thowing up my hands and walking away.

@Timethief - thank you, you are a life saver.

@Raincoaster, I hope to spend the weekend learning about this in depth and not try to cram 40 hours of learning into 4 like I did before - thank you for your explanations.

@isharacomix - thank you for dealing with my little melt down so calmly.
