Is the look of my blog too offensive?

    Considering the things you find on the web these days, it's hard to know where to draw the line. At the same time, I want the appearance of my blog to be as close to self-explanatory as possible. I think I'm finally getting close, but I wonder if I've gone too far by pushing it right up to the edge of what I myself will tolerate. Will you all take a peek and give me some feedback?

    For those who don't know about linking their username to their blog: http://iwanticewater.wordpress.com/

    I know by some standards my blog looks tame, but not offending this wonderful entity called WordPress is important to me.

    The blog I need help with is iwanticewater.wordpress.com.

    I can only speak for myself, but the image doesn't offend me.
    The thing I would personally be more concerned about is use of another person's image without permission. Since I don't know if you're the artist or not, or whether or not you have rights to this image, I'll assume all is well and be not bothered.
    Maybe I'm too sensitive about this stuff, but I'm a photographer and this kind of thing is on a front burner for me.

    @louster - I don't think it's possible to be too sensitive about copyright, potential violations and theft of intellectual property. Laws are involved, not just courtesy.

    That said, I did not look at the blog in question. I think the target audience will let the blogger know if something is offensive. "Offensive" is very subjective and opinions from self-selected strangers are worth what you pay for them.

    Seriously, that's NOTHING. Nothing.

    If you don't want to offend anyone, stay offline. No matter how innocuous your statements, someone will find a way to be outraged. But if you want to enter boldly, do so and you will attract those who appreciate that.

    Thanks for the feedback guys. The cloud image was forwarded to me (and many other people) in an email from someone than got it the same way... I hope that providing the link to the artist's collection is enough for the cover page artwork. It was his own link that let me get the image.

    You REALLY, REALLY, REALLY,need to check directly with the artist and get their permission. DON'T assume that putting a link to the artist is enough.
