Is there a theme that allows posts on different pages?

  1. I am currently using the "Fontfolio" theme on my blog at http://theviewfrommycorneroftheworld.wordpress.com . I am fairly new to WordPress.com and I wonder if there is a theme that will allow me to create posts on different pages of my blog? It seems that when I create a post it always posts on the Home page. I'd like to be able to post to different pages besides the Home page.

Does anyone know if this can be done on the Fontfolio theme or any others?

Another issue I seem to have is when creating a post and trying to insert a link while editing in the "Text" function, the link is not created. What I am doing is clicking on the "link" option, pasting in the URL of the link that I want in the "URL" field, typing in the text that should display on the link and then clicking on the "Add Link" button at the bottom. Despite doing this, the link does not appear. (I am using a Mac & a Safari browser.)

Is anyone else having this trouble?

    Thanks for your help!

  2. This isn't a themes issue. It's a comprehending how blogs operate and how custom menus work issue. Start by reading the differences between Pages and Posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

    (1) There is only one page we can post to in any blog and
    (2) The static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we create do not automatically update.

Only the dynamic pages like Archives, Categories and Tags created by the software when we publish a post will update automatically update with new posts.

By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.

We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

  3. Hi Time Thief, would you know anything about social link icons for the fontfolio theme? You seem quite knowledgable re: WordPress :) http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/fontfolio-theme-social-links-icons-in-header-not-appearing?replies=4#post-1406060

  4. Please don't hijack the thread with an unrelated issue. Do a forum search for "Social link icons" and check the documentation for that theme and if you don't find the answer, start a new thread.
