is there a way to edit the general format of my website?

  1. hello, how can i edit the general page of my website? i mean, for example in my case, to expand the website into the whole page

The blog I need help with is 9thwavegallery.wordpress.com.

  2. Yes.
Few times ago, you could edit your CSS/HTML code of "any" WordPress.
Now, you have to buy an "Design Extension" for 30 $/year...

Maybe I'm wrong but I have the same probleme and I don't see an another way. I hope somebody will help us.

  3. i bought it, but i am a little bit lost...what i need to do is, if possible, expand the content of my page to the whole screen, without having 2 columns on right and left

  4. What CSS to use to adjust the layout of a blog depends on the theme you're using. I see that http://9thwavegallery.wordpress.com/ has been deleted, so it appears you may have given up on using CSS to customize. If that's the case, I'm sorry to hear it! If you still have questions and you're still interested in working on a blog here at WordPress.com, please start a new help request.

  5. @helloworldtrip, can you link to the blog you're working on?

  6. i have bought a domain...my site now is 9thartwave.com

  7. i bought it, but i am a little bit lost...what i need to do is, if possible, expand the content of my page to the whole screen, without having 2 columns on right and left

I checked http://9thartwave.com/ and I see that you're currently using the Portfolio theme. It looks fantastic!

When it comes to featured image sliders and featured images, there is not a way to expand those images using CSS only without compromising on image quality. With that in mind, I'm not sure it would work very well to make the Portfolio theme into a variable width theme that doesn't have white space on the edges and still get it looking right for most display sizes.

Aside: if you update the Website field on your Users → Personal Settings page in your blog dashboard (look for it near the bottom of the page), it will update the link for your username in the forums so it no longer points to http://9thwavegallery.wordpress.com/ since that's a dead link.
