Is there something wonky with the images library this morning?

  1. I put a fair number of pictures in my blog, never before had trouble. But this morning, despite successfully uploading to my media library and seeing the images even in the draft form, when I hit "publish", all I get is the blank frame. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a temporary glitch?

    Thanks in advance!

The blog I need help with is cherrytart.wordpress.com.

  2. Are you talking about this post "Fear and the Blank Page?"

I see all the images just fine. One left aligned at the top, one right aligned in the middle and one centered near the bottom of the post.

Try clearing your browser cache, restarting your browser and then take another look.

  3. Yes, that was the post. Okay, I'll try your suggestions, thanks! (Got worried because FaceBook couldn't see the images either.)

  4. You're welcome. There could be some server issues at wordpress or an issue on the internet somewhere.

  5. On a different computer know while the other one restarts (stupid, slow dinosaur of a computer). Anyway, you're right. Don't know what I'd do without you guys. Hope you get paid for your trouble. :)

  6. Now this is strange. I'm not seeing the images on that post. Safari 4.02 Firefox 3.0.7 OS 10.5.7

This is what I see in the source code:
    </a><a href="http://cherrytart.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/the-courage-to-write-4.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-434" title="The Courage to Write " src="http://cherrytart.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/the-courage-to-write-4.jpg?w=157&h=240" alt="The Courage to Write " width="157" height="240" /></a>

.jpg?w=157&h=240 is wrong, it should be:
    <a href="http://cherrytart.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/the-courage-to-write-4.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-434" title="The Courage to Write " src="http://cherrytart.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/the-courage-to-write-4.jpg" alt="The Courage to Write " width="157" height="240" /></a>

  7. Well being volunteers we get only the satisfaction of helping and the thanks of the users.

  8. Thanks, 1Tess. I ended up deleting the images and reloading, and now they're working just fine. Not quite sure what I did there, but appreciate your time.

    And TSP, thanks again.

  9. Seems to be a spate of reported image problems at the moment.

  10. While I was working on a draft late last night the image uploader was giving me hell, sometimes I would have to delete and rename a image many many times before it would upload properly, and the standard stuff like clearing the cache didn't help. So, I think that it was some sort of wider system problem affecting images.
