Is this kind of website design possible in wordpress?

  1. Hi guys, im quite new to wordpress and i want to design this layout to my client:

    http://www.agencynet.com/

The idea is when you keep on scrolling down, the design and page changes.

Is this possible? Is there a template for this? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is clintnissi.wordpress.com.

  2. Hello there,
The answer is "no" you can't create your own theme or upload any third party theme. The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here > Appearance > Themes and there are 200 of them
    see also > http://theme.wordpress.com/

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install plugins, upload third-party themes or edit templates or themes. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that changes anything stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ To use a third party theme or create your own you will have to hire a web host and set up a self hosted WordPress.org install.

  3. Hello timethief,

Aww that's sad to know. I actually am hiring a web developer but I personally like wordpress as a CMS tool. The design that I want would be the same concept as this http://www.agencynet.com/ but i have to consider if this is doable in wordpress.

Thanks you for your quick response!

  4. As timethief says above, you DO need your own hosting for what you're looking to do. This is a very different kind of design and I'm sure it could be done in WordPress as I feel ANYTHING can be done in WordPress given the right add-on coding. Though WordPress accomplishes a lot without custom coding, this I feel probably requires that. Also, you may realize this; don't confuse a web "designer" with a web "developer". A designer does graphics and layout, a developer writes code. A lot of times these terms are used interchangeably though make no mistake, they are separate. For the custom coding you'll want someone proficient in PHP.

This is 100% doable in WordPress. We are a WordPress development agency, and will code this for you to WordPress per your specifications. All you need to do is purchase a domain ($10 per year), and a hosting account. Host Gator has a decent plan for a little over $10 per month.

Our services vary from job to job, but we are happy to give you a free quote on the work at your convenience.
