I'm finding some strange things missing from what looks like the 19th or somewhere around that date
most of what was missing were pictures and video links
I was able to restore most of this, but I sure would like to know what the heck was going on

On the 19th, wordpress rolled out the [not quite beta] version of wordpress 3.1 here and there were bugs. Most of the biggies have been exterminated, but there are still quite a number of them around.

The only browser that still massively fails is IE7. If you happen to be using it, either upgrade to 8 or install Firefox and work with it till they get IE7 issues fixed. You can if you wish uninstall it after the bugs are gone.
Working in Opera, which I normally use, pix won't post; cannot add categories; and cannot schedule post for later date/time.
I had to switch to IE Vista to get functions to work.
Please fix.
OK, for now use IE, but contact staff and detail the issues and include your OS version, that you are using Opera, and also the version of Opera so that they can find the issue and fix it.

Frustrating morning. When switching to Visual all of the TOP Portion is missing. Cannot return to HTML. All buttons, links, tabs whatever are gone. For over 3 weeks I have had to take the mouse cursor and push the page up to bring and display top portion down. This morning that didn't even work. What is going on???????

IE7 should be working a-OK now. We fixed it very early yesterday.

This sounds like you are not able to load all of the JavaScript needed for WordPress.com to work and is usually a caching or connection issue. Please try logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in.
What version of Opera are you using?

What browser are you using?
Can you give more detail on what you've been doing with the mouse cursor as listed above? I don't believe I've heard of that particular problem or need yet.
Using Internet explorer 8. When I switch to visual to write, the top portion where the toggle button and rest of top is missing completely. You literally have to try to expose that part by pushing the page up to bring down the top part. It's the only way to be able to expose the button and toggle back to switch back to HTML. But this morning that wouldn't work so I just kept having to cancel the page. It was ridiculous. This has been going on for at least three weeks. Very frustrating as I''ve said. I'm puzzled.
But would appreciate any help. I have no idea why this is happening.
On IE8, if you have compatibility view active in the dashboard, try deactivating it and see if that fixes things.
