Issue with HTTPS [SSL certficicate] of WordPress.com

  1. I had an issue with HTTPS login for WordPress.com-i.e SSL certificate .I use Latest Google chrome browser[version 12].This issue is with default WordPress.com SSL certificate..
Please check this screenshot image link ON CHROME SSL Check
    http://techtimely.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/ssl.png
it says"connection is not compromised" -The connection had to be retired using SSL 3.0 .
I also tried using Firefox 5.0 -but it says cannot verify ownership or This web site does not supply ownership information. below is screeen shot

    Any suggestions or help?

The blog I need help with is techtimely.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry, but what exactly do you need help with? Are you not able to log in via https? http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

  3. Actually iam able to login ,but issue is with this ssl[https] check at chrome browser on [topleft of URL bar].please check scrren shots [when i login ].

  4. If you've enabled it in your Settings panel, as per the Support doc I pointed to above, https is used for the admin pages of your dashboard, not the blog itself.

According to at least the Chrome screenshot, your connection is encrypted. So, again, I'm not understanding the problem you are having. Perhaps one of the other forum volunteers will be able to assist better. Cheers!

  5. To be more specific on my query According to Google chrome browsers they usually verify SSL or HTTPS certificate with a padlock indicators at top left of url bar [If our SSL is ok and verified then a green padlock icon is shown]
    Here is the link
    https://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95617&hl=en-US
For me an yellow padlock icon is displayed at top left bar and it indicates some security issues with the SSL.certificate.
According to chrome browser support an yellow padlock icon indicates
"The site uses SSL, but Google Chrome has detected insecure content on the page. Be careful if you’re entering sensitive information on this page. Insecure content can provide a loophole for someone to manipulate the page."
On clicking this padlock icon we get the message as i indicated above in screen shot images.
On Firefox 5 also some sort of verification lacks with SSL certificate.
I think my query is clear?Any help please

  7. Just to make sure: you are using an URL beginning with https ONLY to log in, right? Not to view your blog eh?

  8. My query is when login to WordPress.com i.e when we access Dashboard of the blog .i.e problem with default WordPress.com SSL verification by browser.

  9. Any one to guide/help me?

  10. It looks like we are out of ideas here. Unless another volunteer can figure out what's wrong, I suggest you bring this to staff's attention: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  11. Hi TechTimely,

It appears you have several embedded images in your page that are being linked to as non-SSL (http:// instead of https://). Because you're mixing the two protocols on a single page, Chrome will give that type of SSL warning.

Take a look at this screenshot to see the resources in question:

  12. Again i think u might not clearly understood my question.Iam querying on my login to official wordpress.com [i.e accessing my dashboard and further settings].Above screenshots and images are of that. Now for mt blog i hadn't obtained any additional SSL certificate or any thing .simply by accessing http:// we will not get any error like you said.
The exact problem is associated with official WordPress login and it's SSL verification as i described above posts.
I think i would contact directly to support and have further post here

  13. I agree with you. There is an issue, even in these forums. It's connection-dependent, though. I get the SSL certificate warning at work using Safari, but not at home using Chrome.

  14. @techtimely
You will have to contact Staff. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
