Issues

  1. 1) Many of my photo-links are broken. You click the photo and you get a 404 error message. 2) Also, I can't seem to get more than one gallery in a single post. I found a plug-in and downloaded it, but it didn't come with an installer, so I couldn't do anything with it. 3) Finally, the way I insert photos into the post changes -- sometimes it says "Insert a photo," and other times it's a different interface that says something like, "Insert media." I've found this site to be very difficult and non-intuititive.

Can you help me with any of these issues?

Okay, I just saw the button that says, "Ask the community for support." Does that mean that no one from WordPress will respond to this?

    Thanks.

  2. This is a peer support foum. What that means is Volunteers answer support questions. When they cannot resolve an issue the they flag the thread in question for Staff support. The result is that Staff aren't wasting their valuable time answering questions that have been asked and answered a million times over and are avalable to anyone who will actually search forum threads and support documentation.

    • Were these images imported from elsehere into the blog?
    • Did you upload the images from your computer into the blog?
    • Are the images appearing in your Media Library ie. are they on wordpress.com servers?
    • Or are these images hosted on some third party site?
  3. 2) Also, I can't seem to get more than one gallery in a single post. I found a plug-in and downloaded it, but it didn't come with an installer, so I couldn't do anything with it.

There is no FTP access to free hosted wordpress.com blogs and we cannot upload plugins.

Please post an active link starting with http:// to the exact site in question.

  4. The photos were imported from my computer into the blog. I think they show up on the media library, although I've deleted them in my tortured attempts to navigate the gallery, trying to designate which photos in the media library go into which gallery in a post, so they're no longer in the media library. That seems like a good reason for the links to be broken, but I have to tell you that for non-IT people like myself, this thing is a nightmare to figure out. I get that it's free, but I'd be happy to pay for a truly intuitive site that makes sense. As an example, I'm working on a website on Zenfolio now, and it works like a dream, and when you e-mail customer support you get a response sometimes within a few minutes, but no later than the next day. They're happy to "waste their valuable time" answering questions. Do I pay for that? yes, and I'd be happy to pay for this. Plus I don't understand the part about the FTP, and the URL for my blog does not appear to have an http://, but I'll post it here with that prefix if that helps: http://stephandjordan.com.

Thanks for your help, I am just extremely frustrated with this site.

There's the answer. As you deleted the images from the Media Libray when a browser calls for their display there's noting that can be displayed as the image in question has been deleted. You will have to upload them again.

  6. This site http://stephandjordan.com/ is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog site. stephandjordan.com Is Hosted by Inflow

You are posting to the wrong support forum. You need to post to http://wordpress.org/support/
