It’s Possible!: Facebook SHARE and LIKE buttons…at the same time!
-
Up till now (9/4/2010), you had to CHOOSE between having either the Facebook SHARE button OR the Facebook LIKE button for your blog posts.
Well, I just figured out how to have BOTH available.
Here is my site to get a visual of what it looks like ► ► ► http://jcrylequotes.com/
► Follow these short, easy directions to set it up on your blog:
1) Your Dashboard
2) Settings
3) Sharing
4) Under “Available Services” click “Add a new service”
5) For “Service Name”, type in Facebook
6) For “Sharing URL”, copy this link ► http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=%post_url%
7) For “Icon URL”, copy this link ► http://cdn.iconfinder.net/data/icons/Classy_Social_Media_Icons/16/facebook.png
8) Click the “Create Share” button
9) Drag and drop your Facebook SHARE button to either the “Enabled Services” section below the “Available Services” OR over to the right with the WordPress SHARE button.
10) Now, simply click the right down arrow on the Facebook button (not the button you JUST created; the other one provided by WordPress) and choose the “LIKE” option, save everything at the bottom of the page and you’re all set.
You now have both the SHARE and LIKE options available to you at the bottom of your posts.

Whoa! You rock :)
I named mine as “Share” instead of Facebook (the FB icon already indicates the service so no need to repeat or confuse the reader. The cool thing about this set of share features is how you can list as many social sharing tools as possible to accommodate your readers even when you don’t use use them yourself.

You’re welcome guys. My pleasure. The more folks that get a chance to come visit your site, the better. :-)

Brilliant!
If I might suggest a slight modification: I advise copying he actual image and uploading it to WordPress itself, so that no matter what happens to that external site, it’s always visible. I’ve had too many hotlinked images go poof.

Thanks a lot… I brought your topic staight onto the fr forum
Thanks again for sharing this trick. Have a nice day! -
Good idea in actually uploading the actual image into WordPress. You never know if that site where your current image is located might one day decide to go under.
