JavaScript erros post-new.php

  1. Hi all!

It's just that I can't write a post to my a-few-hours-ago created blog because I use Firefox and I got some JavaScript errors that hide the textarea for writing the post (just when it tries to finish page load).

I've looked at Firefox's JavaScript console and there are a lot of erros comming from:
Error: Unknown property '_width'. Declaration dropped.
    Source File: https://fermat.wordpress.com/wp-admin/wp-admin.css?version=MU
    Line: 742

Error: Unknown property '_margin'. Declaration dropped.

Error: Unknown property 'filter'. Declaration dropped.

.... and a few more comming for one or more of the mentionated pages.

Does any of you have the same problem?

    Thanks a lot.

    Fermat.

  2. Here are two resources for you to consult that may relate to your problem. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/javascript-can-i-use-that-on-my-blog/

    http://bloggersblurt.wordpress.com/2006/10/08/why-javascript-gets-stripped/
In addition to these I think you should read the pink sticky at the head of the forum too because at wordpress.com you cannot alter your php. The title of the pink sticky post is "please read me before posting" http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=3700&replies=1
Now if it proves that I am way off base giving you these answers force clear your browser and please forgive me because I'm not a techie type at all.

  3. Thank you timethief, but this is not my problem :-(

I'm not trying to do anything with JavaScript. It's just that the page where we write a post to be published (in my case, https://fermat.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php) is not loading correctly on my browser (Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.7).

The main problem is that the main textarea (where you write the content of you posts) appears when "save", "publish", etc. buttons haven't been loaded jet, but... just a second after (when all the pages has finished to load)... this main textarea "disappears" (if I select to see the page without CSS Style, I can see it)...

Maybe I should write wordpress support mail account? Or is this the write place to ask about it? (It's about wordpress.com's post-new.php and Firefox interaction).

    Thanks again,
    Fermat.

  4. @fermat,
I'm sorry I missed the mark when I replied. As you can tell by the trailer on my answer I suspected I was off base. This is an issue you need to take up with staff. Send in a feedback with a link back to this forum thread.
In the meantime you could choose to uncheck the checkbox for the visual rich text editor on your profile page and see how you do with the other editor. I use a firefox 1.5.7 and do not use the visual rich text editor at all. I draft all my posts in BlogDesk and upload them to my wordpress blogs with ease. So if it takes some time for staff to answer you at least you're not hooped you can post two other ways. Best wishes.:)

  5. timethief, that (uncheck visual rich text editor) worked ;-))

    Thanks a lot,
    Fermat.
