Jetpack server unable to communicate with my site

  1. Hello, I run a blog on my website @hyperboreans.com.

I just tried installing the jetpack plug-in but it claims that your server cannot communicate with my site for some reason. My site is not private. Can you help?

    Thanks.

  2. Jetpack communicates by using the xmlrpc.php file that comes with WordPress. However, the xmlrpc.php file on your site is returning an error, "HTTP/1.1 412 Precondition Failed."

You must make sure the xmlrpc.php file on your site is working or the Jetpack plugin will not be able to connect to WordPress.com. Are you able to work with your host to determine what is happening on your web server to block the xmlrpc.php file from working?

  3. Thanks. I'll contact my web server host and see if they can explain why the xmlrpc.php file is blocked.
