So as I sit here at work, still thinking of ways to get my business up and running and a good location. I'm thinking of Atlanta , but I feel that's where everyone is flocking to now a days. The other place is Houston. Any ideas, I'm willing to relocate just not to far from Mississippi. My home

What kind of business are you starting?
I am starting a nonprofit organization to help people who have been molested, raped, or have had problems with incest.
Thanks, ardpete. But I don't think that I will be moving to Kansas.
The two approaches I see would be either to go where that is most needed and the population is under-served, like Salt Lake City, or go to a city in a "blue state", where they are in favor of non-profits. Those states which are refusing to expand Medicaid or work toward health care exchanges won't support your kind of business. You would have to set it up for private funding in those places.
Thanks so much for the info, I really like these kind of feedback. That is something to take in consideration. Here down south do not have places like this for people who have been in these situations.
Why what's wrong with Kansas?
There isn't anything wrong with kansas, it's just to far away from my family.
Make them move to Kansas.
I would suggest one of the bigger cities in the south. First, because there would be a larger population there with more people needing the services perhaps ;and more important, those who wish to use the facilities would have more chance of remaining anonymous than they would in smaller, more insular towns.

Jessielansdel, I was thinking the same thing. I already live in a small poverty stricken area, but I feel that the services would not be used where I stay. Everyone knows everyone here so people would be to ashamed to talk or call about it.
I'm from the middle of England, no where close. But I like the name Kansas.

I think it is great that you are helping people. Maybe you could look at the demographics in the southern states and see where the need is the greatest. Best of luck to you!
