   Are the tags that we add to each post the same as key words? I know that if I was writing my own html, I would place them in the post as meta tags, so i'm confused if it's the same thing. If it isn't, how can I ensure my keywords are being picked up during search engine crawls?

   You can put your tags in the tags section of the post editor page. Keywords are the same as tags. It is not necessary to do a meta as wordpress takes care of that automatically with the tags section.

   "Categories" are also treated as Keywords for Search Engines, just as "tags".,
