   I have read many of the messages about ideas regarding missing kitchen sink buttons but they all seem to be for people who have INSTALLED WordPress.

   Since I am not installing it but using WordPress.com for two blogs I am starting this as a new topic, asking for help getting Kitchen Sink available for when I am writing and editing posts for http://birdcreekblues.wordpress.com.

   This is not a browser issue nor a Flash issue because I am using the same browser (Chrome) writing and editing posts on the other blog http://onlytechchanges.wordpress.com and there kitchen sink is available and works fine.

   The only difference I know of is that I have had 'birdcreekblues' running for several years while I began 'onlytechchanges' just two days ago. Maybe 'birdcreekblues' never had the kitchen sink; I just learned about kitchen sink when starting with 'onlytechchanges'.

   Anyone have the solution?

   If you are an Admin on the blog this should not be happening.

   Check to make sure that the Visual Editor is not disabled in your user profile.
   Access your Personal Settings and uncheck the Disable the visual editor when writing option in the Personal Options section.

   Also are you working is full screen distraction free writing mode?

   Thank you for your quick answer, timethief. I am not working in full screen distraction free writing mode nor is Visual Editor disabled in my user profile.

   But on further checking I see that I was making a dumb error, looking at HTML view on the blog where I thought kitchen sink was missing. Clicking Visual solved what had mystified me.
