II have noted significant lack of focus on the vertical thumbnails of the galleries. The appearance of horizontal thumbnails is ok but it seems that the focus is not optimized for vertical ones. Is there any possibility of improving this?

Hi Joana. So that we can better assist you, could you kindly provide us with the link (http://...) to one of the galleries where this is happening?
I have removed these galleries and I am not currently using this feature due to this problem. Anyway, I have created one page with some pictures for you to see what I am saying:

As you can see, all the vertical pictures have a lack of focus whereas the horizontal ones are ok.

This is not the problem. I can not control the resizing done by the feature gellery and that is the problem; the resizing done to create the thumbnails.
