Landing page...!!!

  1. Hi!

    I need help please, I need my landing page to be my home page which shows all my recent posts not the home page it's showing currently with the information about the website..!
    Do I need to have 2 home pages in that case or is there any other alternative?

    The blog I need help with is letstrycreating.com.

  2. Hi, I see that the main page on http://letstrycreating.com/ is showing your blog posts now.

    I would suggest editing and changing the title on the "home" page that you created to lessen confusion.

    If you want a "home" page link in your menu, you can create a custom menu link for your custom menu with this as the link: http://letstrycreating.com/ .

  3. Great it's done! Thank you :)
    if you see I have added below about me menu bar a sub menu - About but that sub menu seems to not fall right under the About me menu but on extreme corner..why is that happening? and how can I sought that?

  4. Add the following two rules and see what you think. The first left-aligns the text in the submenu so it is below the parent menu item. The second moves the submenu up so that it is aligned below the parent and clickable.

    .navigation-main ul ul li {
        text-align: left;
    }

    .navigation-main ul ul {
        top: 1.5em;
    }
  5. Thank you :)

    It worked great, but the background color(yellow) on the submenu (about) is stretching way out of the submenu.. how can I fix that?

  6. Regarding your Disclosure page, I don't think the appeal for paid advertising will past your Terms of Service agreement with WordPress. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/

  7. ??? sorry I din't get you?

  8. @hobnobnoor, I'm not seeing a submenu item under about. If you removed it because of that issue, can you put it back in so that I can take a look at it?

  9. @hobnobnoor, read the linkk baskcabinetry gave you. On your disclosure page you say "This blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation." ALL of those are banned on a WordPress.com hosted blog, regardless of the upgrades you have (with the exception of the $30,000 a year VIP program). Remove that content and any paid content or ads, otherwise your blog will be suspended.

  10. @ raincoaster - but I am self hosting my blog, I have bought my domain, then why is that banned here? does that mean I have to choose any other hosting sites?

    Thank you!

  11. @ sacredpath - I am so sorry I had deleted the submenu as I din't want one any more so I guess we can forget about that question :) but thanks for reverting back :)

  12. @raincoaster : I couldn't open the link due to slow server however I don't have any ads as if for now on my site...I would go through the link and understand the wordpress policy and do accordingly - Thanks :)

  13. @hob - you are not self hosting - you are hosted at WordPress.COM and subject to the terms of service here -

    buying a domain name and changing the the name of a blog does not change the hosting

    You are well on your way to getting your blog suspended

  14. @ auxclass : in that case can you tell me I can only add disclosure policy for ads if I buy some VIP package ? in short or else I can never use the ads disclosure on my blog?

  15. You can never use ads or accept paid content of any kind unless you are in the $30,000 a year VIP program.

  16. @auxclass : Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category.

    Am I falling in that category? can you please confirm with me on that for my better understanding.

  17. all right I have removed the disclosure page!

  18. Are you linking to your OWN products with affiliate links? If not, then you're outside of that particular "safe zone."
