Landing page of a post made from the internet

How do I change the page that a post made from the internet lands on? For example, if I see something that I want to share on my blog, I want to choose whether it shows on a "Fashion" page or on a "Beauty" page. But, I want to do that each time - is that even possible? It seems like it should be.

The blog I need help with is rachelemmedesigns.com.

  2. Hi there - could you tell me a little more about how you would be sharing someone else's post on your site? Are you referring to the "reblog" button on other WordPress.com sites? Thanks!

Ummm...sorry I'm new to all of this and I'm not sure exactly how to explain what I want to do. Say that I am on Polyvore and I'm putting an outfit together (because I like to) and I want to share it on my WordPress site. I currently click on Share and it nicely goes to the Polyvore page on my WordPress site. However, what if I were to come across an article on how to apply mascara (as an example) and I wanted to share this on my WordPress site. I would like to choose where this article lands as currently anything I share lands on the Polyvore page - which is what I have set up. Is there a way that I can change where the content that I'm sharing lands at the time of sharing?

  4. Hi there - Polyvore items can be posted to your blog, which is what you've called "Polyvore" on your website - as opposed to your site's pages.

You might want to read a bit more about the differences between blog posts and pages.

Pages are meant mostly for static content that doesn't change often, while blog posts are meant as a quick way to add new content from day to day.

You can assign posts to different categories, which may help offer you the structure you want. You could then link to those categories in a custom menus.

Just let me know if you need further help - happy blogging!

Is something that I can do at the time of posting something to my blog? As in when the website I'm on asks me something along the lines of "Do you want to post this to WordPress" do I have options or do I have to just post everything to one place on my WordPress website and then go in and re-assign everything?

I've read the article on posts and pages, but it doesn't really help someone like me who has precious little knowledge on this topic.

Not unless that's a specific feature that Polyvore offers. I checked their FAQ and don't see that mentioned as an option, but if you click the "Still have a question?" link at the bottom left, you could contact their support team directly to find out for sure.

What I meant is that after you share something on Polyvore to your blog, you could go into your site and assign a category to that post - for example, some categories could be shoes, dresses, makeup, skirts, etc.
