Like Buttons on Sidebar (Google +, Twitter, Facebook, etc)

  1. Hi! I was wondering if there was anyway to put the Google+, Twitter, or Facebook like buttons in a widget in the sidebar. I got HTML code for them off their respective sites, but WordPress always pulls out all the Javascript and strips the code so it is just a link to the host site (like Google.com). If there is no way, you can take this topic as an idea. Because I have do it on Blogger before, and I'd like my entire site (not just the posts) to be shared on Social Networks.

    Thanks!

  2. We cannot use Javascript as the software will continue to strip the code out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. However, you don't need Javascript at all to do this. Capture an image ie a social network icon and link it to your profile page on the associated social network, and display it in a text widget in your sidebar.

  3. That's too bad. Oh, well, thanks anyway! :)

  4. You're welcome.
P.S. There are themes that do have such icons on the front page. See Mysitque and Sundance.
