Although my post is 'Liked' by one or more persons, it does not count as "reads'
in my stats. I suspect my users are clicking "like' in their WordPress.com reader without reading the full post so that they can get linkbacks to their
blogs. Is that the case? Has anyone else complained about this?
Is the 'likes' system being gamed i.e
are wordpress users being spammed by unwanted or inappropriate likes?
my posts include slideshows that do not display in the reader. How can
a user like a post without actually viewing it?
it just appears to be an attempt at link-building. What do you say?
In addition, does wordpress have a system to block other users who are
misusing the 'likes' system or intend to provide a block mechanism?
Currently the only option is to turn off the likes button. But that
does not prevent users from using the reader to view wordpress blogs.
Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is maketimeforsports.com.
