limit column width option not working?

  1. Hi all,

I'm using WordPress Classic, which is two column, flexible width. There's an option to limit content to ___ pixels, but no matter number I put in there, it doesn't seem to change. In general, the proportions in the columns just seem wrong. The side bar is bunched up, and the body gets too much.

I know some css, but am not sure exactly what to tweak on this to address the issue(s).

The blog I need help with is uncglobalhealth.wordpress.com.

  3. Damn! I swore I wouldn't make that mistake, like everyone else. http://uncglobalhealth.wordpress.com

  4. I've been playing with this using Firebug, and I'm afraid that I'm not going to be of much help as I've never messed with flexible width themes and my solutions fall apart when you narrow the browser window.

Hopefully someone else will come along that has more experience with flexible width themes.

  5. Ah well, thanks anyway! The code looks like kind of a mess to me (based on my meager knowledge).

  6. Devblog could straighten things out in a flash, but I haven't seen him around here in over a week. I don't know if he is just busy or if he gave up on the forums.

  7. Hi ighid: I enquired about the "limit content" option recently, and it doesn't do what you expected:

... basically it's intended to limit the max width of images or other "content". It does not limit the width of the div (or whatever) that has the id "content".
