Limits on word count and number of updates on blog post

  1. Two questions:
    1) Is there a limit on word count for one blog post? I'm doing one which is basically turning into a short book (70,000+ words), and I'm wondering if it'll eventually be cut off.
    2) Is there a limit on the number of times one can update a blog post?
    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is dogmadrift.wordpress.com.

There's no explicit limit. It's not uncommon for people to publish posts that are many many times larger than that.

Depending on the style of your blog and content it might be sensible to break larger posts up using the --more-- or --nextpage-- tags, or splitting them up across several posts. But the reasons for doing that are aesthetic, not technical.

I would personally suggest you take a look at offline editing apps when writing yours:

Writing on browser can be fickle from time to time, and it's better to write elsewhere and then post it to WordPress once it's done.

  3. However - please break the book into chapters - your readers will love you

You can do that with several Posts or Pages with Sub-Pages if you want the "book" to be arranged easily from a central point

  4. Thanks to both of you, very helpful.
The offline editing is definitely a good option, as sometimes the Internet connection causes problems. Was not planning on writing such a long post, but as they say, one thing leads to another.
