Is there a better way to remove a feature image other than deleting and re-uploading? When inserting images it's easy to set it as a feature but to remove them doesn't seem to have a quick click short of deleting the entire image.

You have posted to the wrong support forum in error. Volunteers answering support questions have no knowledge of premium themes and how they do or do not operate. When you purchase a premium theme you are paying for support directly from the theme designer. That support is delivered on the Premium Themes Support Forum.
