Link to old post becomes a comment

  1. Hi!
I'm trying to figure out why any time I try to add a link to a previous post in a new post, the new post becomes a comment on the old post. I hope that makes sense.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I've tried copy and pasting the link and using the "Add Existing Content" feature and it happens every time. I would really like to be able to link to the posts I'm referencing.
    Thanks,
    Kelsey

The blog I need help with is thelookonless.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi Kelsey,

That comment is called a pingback, and you can learn more about them here: Pingbacks

This doesn't change the new post that you created — it just adds a comment on the post you linked to as well. If you don't want this comment to be created, you can stop self-pings by following these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/#can-i-stop-self-pings

If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
