Linking

  1. How do i link my blog with my Google account and Pinterest? I have connected it already, but i want to know how to link it. It says to email the instructions (on Google+ and Pinterest) to my webmaster, but how do i get in contact with the webmaster?

The blog I need help with is remindwithapicz.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there. The only way to link those accounts that I know of is to verify them via the Tools menu. Instructions for verifying your blog with both Google and Pinterest is in this document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

It says to email the instructions (on Google+ and Pinterest) to my webmaster,

Those instructions are only valid for self-hosted blogs. The only instructions that will work for WordPress.com are in the link above.

  3. Thank you for the detailed information.

  4. You're welcome. If you run into trouble doing this, please let us know.

  5. ok. I have seen that i can link my site to Social media by going to Dashboard and onto tools. I then click Available Tools and i have pasted the link I was given from the social media sites. I am supposed to click "Save changes" and go back to the Social Media site to verify the site. i have followed a lll of these instructions but i haven't seen a difference and my Google Plus says: "Check that the line of code was added to your site's homepage and that the modified homepage is live on your site. Then try testing again." I don't know why I am getting this reply but I'm sort of lost here.

  6. To verify with Google Webmaster, make sure you don't close the webmaster tab while pasting the code into WordPress. Leave the tab open while pasting the code in WordPress in a different tab, and then go back to the webmaster tab to verify.

To connect Google+ specifically, see this doc for your profile: http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-plus-profile/ and this one for G+ pages: http://en.support.wordpress.com/connect-a-google-page-to-your-blog/ In the case of connecting a G+ page you'll have to verify with Webmaster Tools first.

These are the only options, as we cannot add their code to our home pages.

  7. ok, thank you. I would try this later on in the day.

    and on WordPress, it says:

Enter your meta key "content" value to verify your blog with Google Webmaster Tools, Bing Webmaster Center, Pinterest Site Verification, Twitter Website and Yandex.Webmaster.

    Google Webmaster Tools

This is what Google Plus give me, but when i inserted it there, it didnt link my site:

By adding a short line of code to http://remindwithapicz.wordpress.com, you can make your Google+ page eligible to show up on the right hand side of the Google search page for relevant queries and make your Google+ page more discoverable. Learn more
Ask your site's webmaster to add the following line of code to your site's homepage:
    Google+

I apologize for requesting so much.

  9. I'm afraid you can't upload the html file. As I said, the only way to verify your blog is via the instructions in the WordPress.com support documents. The instructions at Google won't work.

The only way you can verify you site with Webmaster Tools is via an html tag/meta key which you insert under Tools. We cannot add files or code to our home pages. Webmaster tools recommends the html file upload, but you should click on Alternate Methods and select the html tag instead. http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-webmaster-tools

  10. ok, thank you so much! i was able to verify my sites

  11. I'm glad you got it working. Happy blogging :)
