Links don't align in text widget

  1. I have added a text widget with links. They are all there, but they do not align. Instead they are next to each other. What am I doing wrong?

  2. <p align="center">put the images and content here </p>

  3. <br>

    this tag will act like when you press the 'enter' key to begin on the next line.

  4. Hi there,
    Welcome to wordpress.com
    Will you please post a link to your blog so we can see what you are talking about?
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/using-the-text-widget/
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/how-to-write-links/
    how to use the break element properly

    Tip: You can link your wordpress.com username to your wordpress.com blog. -> Users -> Your Profile (find "website" enter your wordpress.com blog's url and click "Update Profile" to save the change).

    HTH:)

  5. If paragraphs are wanted, then paragraphs should be made by putting each of the lines in the example in paragraph elements: <p>This is a real paragraph.</p> and <p>This is another.</p>
    For inline breaks the correct usage is <br /> Note that space between the "r" and the "/".

    {waving to sulz}

  6. Sorry, thought I was linked to my blog through my member name, but I just fixed that!
    Here's my blog anyway: http://www.gotnomilk.wordpress.com

    The text widget I am working on is the Lactose Free Sites. Do you see how they are all next to each other, instead of under each other?

    Sulz, where do I place <br> ?

    Thanks for everyone's quick responses!

  7. Actually, timethief, where do I place

    {waving to both you and sulz}

  8. error!

    where do I place
    ?

  9. hmm. I everytime I put that html in my question, it does not show up!

  10. in the text widget, after your links.

    i use

    <br>

    in my text widgets with no problems.

  12. by the way, you need to use that tag each time you want to separate links. as in if you have 5 links and you want them in 5 lines, you have to use it 5 times.

  13. you need to put the backtick before and after the code. that's the key next to the number 1 key.

  14. That worked! Thank you so much. World's.Best.Forum.

  18. I have a simular problem @ http://www.secfootballblogger.com . I have text links on the left side. they are right after my Google adds. The problem is that my url comes before the link. how do I remove my url before the link?

    help please. this is for advertising so it needs to be right. Thank you

  19. Hey there,

    I guess you didn't read the sticky at the top of the forum called 'read me first'? Cause if you did you would have known that this forum is only for the support of wordpress.com blogs which are running using the MU version of wordpress. Here we are unable to place adsense or any other ads into our blogs.

    Your blog is selfhosted and you want to ask at http://wordpress.org/support

  20. Meh, I'm sure it was called 'Read me first' once, now it's either of the two stickies. My bad.

  21. @carocat
    No problem. The title changed on the sticky post but it's even more clear now than it was before.
    WordPress.com or WordPress.org ? The difference. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700
    FAQs entry http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/wordpresscom-vs-wordpressorg/

  22. Well, to be honest I don't think it is. Having something state 'Read me first' is more urgent than "Wordpress.com or WordPress.org ? The difference." or "7 things to know before posting".

    But either way, it's not like it will change anythign on the forums. :)

  23. I would have liked the help if it was possable. I understand the rules. I understand why you redirected me. I just wanted an answer. I am sorry for the confusion on my part.
