I see an option for a Links widget to add to my sidebar (I have the misty theme if that matters), but when I move "links" over to select it to appear on my sidebar like the calendar, it tells me that "there are no options for this widget". What does this mean? How do I add options so that I can show my blogroll?

The MistyLook theme does have a page template for Links. page attributes > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#template
Alternatively you can use a Links widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/ and you are correct there are no options for the widget. It display links to the entries your entered into your dashboard.
