List of Posts

  1. Hi,

I got help with how to do a list of posts on my blog - since I have 130+ posts. Right now, I have them as one big long list and I would like to break them down and group the posts based on categories. Do I have to do this manually or is there some way to do this?

I thought I would ask since you are all so helpful, before I proceed to do it manually.

    Thanks so much!

The blog I need help with is ariannasrandomthoughts.com.

  2. Just use the Categories widget, or get the link to the categories you want to feature and put them in your header using a Custom Menu, so people can click on your Cats category, say, and get all your Cat posts, or whatever.

Do not do this manually. As you'll see from the Category widget, WP.com already does this for you automatically, and updates it automatically too. So if you used the Cats category, your category page would be http://ariannasrandomthoughts.wordpress.com/category/cats

  3. Here are two options:
    archives shortcode
    Create a Site Index

  4. Hereis is the third option:
A custom menu allows you to display Categories with drop-downs to sub-categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. If you wish you can also include Pages with drop-downs to sub-pages and/or custom links in your custom menu as well. You are in charge of what appears in a custom menu. You choose the order in which to display any and/or all the foregoing in your custom menu. You choose which to display and which to hide.

  5. Thanks so much! I will definitely do that!
