I occasionally want to review for myself, or direct a reader to, the posts in a given category, and for the posts to be read in chronological order (as makes sense if the category is describing a process), the only way I know is for the reader to trudge through page after page after page of posts listed in reverse chronological order, scrolling to the bottom of each page, clicking "earlier posts" and repeating the process until the first post is reached. Since the category in question has over 400 posts, this is a great flaming pain.
I'm assuming that getting the category posts listed chronologically is impossible. As an workaround, I understand that *I* can do a category search, enter page numbers in the URL for the category (jumping ahead 5 or 10 pages at a time) until I get a 404, then decrementing page numbers until I get to the oldest page. I can then give that URL to someone, they can scroll to the bottom of the page and read upwards, from page to page. Not an elegant or attractive solution, but I imagine that currently this is the only possibility.
Still: process-descriptive categories cannot be that unusual, so I'm hoping WordPress has developed a more reasonable approach. Or is this the best that can be done?
