looking for a theme

  1. I have been using the Rounded theme. I am looking for a theme that will: 1. allow me to post widgets to certain pages only (not show on all of them) 2. I have several pages...would like to post to them as a post stream like the home page.
Can anyone recommend some themes for me to look at that will do this?

The blog I need help with is kellywernex.wordpress.com.

  2. 1. allow me to post widgets to certain pages only (not show on all of them)
    this may help > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/sidebars-and-other-widget-areas/

    2. Cannot be done and asking for that reveals you are not clear on the differences between pages and posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

The pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create are static and cannot automatically update. Only the dynamic categories pages created by the software will automatically update.

Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

    Here’s a link to a custom menu walk-through > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-com-custom-menu-walk-through/

There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and you can read about them here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/

  3. Thanks for the reply. I went to look at your site, I see under your About page you have several other topics listed. Is this what you mean by a custom menu? Since they cannot be streamed, would it be wrong to post to a page continually using dates to designate? Or better to post to home and use a category or topic widget? (Sorry, so new at this!) Here is what I was thinking...on my In the Kitchen page I wanted to post the actual recipes here that were mentioned in my home posts. All so starting a new page, Teaching, where I wanted to post lessons and photos from my classroom. Just not sure I am going about setting this up the right way.
    I really appreciate your input!
