looking for feedback on my music and update blog - Thanks!

    This is my second blog post. I am looking for feedback on any and everything. I want to use my blog to give fans, artists and friends updates about my music, information about my music, and probably a little bit of mindless rambling as well. What would make my blog page better,(I know "better" is subjective). What area's could be changed, worked on. Some positive feedback would be quite alright too.

    A few questions I have right off the bat are:

    ......There is a little flower next to the title of my blog post? I'm not quite sure why it is there? I would like it not to be there. Can anyone help me remove it? After all my blog is about music, flowers--not so much.....

    ......Is there a way for me to include a music player or tune widget or add on, what ever it would be called, from Reverbnation in a blog post, or possibly on the right side of the screen?

    Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read the dribble above, and thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer me!

    The little flower is part of the theme template (dark wood) you chose, Jason. TimeThief or Raincoaster might have info on how to alter themes. That's beyond my education. There are definitely ways to include audio. It's one of the paid upgrade options available to you. Look around the WP tutorials.

    Congratulations on completing an album. That's a project of notable complexity. As a former recording engineer, I'm often amused at how simple people assume it will be to complete the recording and mixing of a dozen songs at a professional level. And that's AFTER all the time it takes to write good songs.

    Im thinking Mikey is a reverse stalker! Everywhere I go... theres Mikey!
    Anyway, good luck on the blog brother. Get a post up and and maybe something on youtube at least (easy way and popular) so we can hear your stuff! I strongly advise avoiding using a third party application that would require the visitor to download anything. Keep it simple bud :)

    You will require an annually renewable custom design upgrade and the required CSS editing to remove/hide it. If you do purchase the custom design upgrade then you must post to the CSS Customization Forum to get help.

    Embed codes aren't allowed, for security reasons. You can embed a flash object if you convert the code into the right shortcode: For more on this see here:

    I appreciate all the feedback and help! I don't know Kailinaer, I've been to Midey's blog, and been reading them, and it appears that he spends a good amount of time on his posts, they are very well done, I'm not sure he'd have the time to be a Salker. lol....

    I do have a few songs on youtube, and 6 up on Reverbnation, I did want to get a few songs to pop up on the blog, but I'm squeezed tight for the budget right now, so I think I may try the shortcode idea, or just let it slide right now.

    I appreciate the feedback on my question timethief, I have learned a lot in a few short days by reading your blog posts. There are so many tips on your blog, that if I read all of them, I wouldn't have time for my own posts, or music, or family, or........ :)

    My third blog is available, and I have one of my songs off of youtube posted in it, I switched themes, so I have no flower anymore, the wood theme was really nice, but the flower didn't match the content of my blog.

    Any feedback on my new look would be appreciated as well!!

    Looks good, well written - a couple of minor typos, but it's nice to see a musician who knows how to use punctuation (joke: I'm a musician myself). More images would be good - do you have any photos from the recording sessions?

    Congrats on getting the album finished!

    I would suggest you consider adding your name to the blog title and to your tag line. It will make searching for you on Google a lot easier.

    Thanks for the feedback! I'll make some changes as you suggested, and have my wife (who is a teacher) look through the blog before I post.
