lost site

  1. Hi there

I manage this site eileenheneghan.wordpress.com for my friend. I set it up yonks ago and had the original password saved in my browser. I reset the password recently due to that security breach, and stupidly did not write it down and cannot remember it. I also cannot remember the email i set it up with, could be one of three [email redacted], [email redacted] or [email redacted] I am failing reseting it. I need to add a blog post for her. Can someone help me? Thanks

The blog I need help with is mayamassage.wordpress.com.

  2. I cannot access a blog I set up with a domain name a few months ago. I followed it from another email address and received a notice in my inbox about the new follow, but can't enter the site to manage it. How do I get access?

  3. If you don't have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here: http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

mayamassage, you can try multiple email addresses.

Please follow the instructions carefully. You'll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure you read it for important instructions. If you don't receive the email right away, check your spam folders as well because the confirmation email can get caught in them sometimes.

If you continue to have problems, let me know.

  4. I am somewhat confused about what I've done. I logged in to a site I had set up a few months ago (I think) and changed the user name. Now, I'm logging in with that new user name and old password and it says I have to create the blog. When I started to set up that blog I wasn't allowed to enter my main domain name because I'm told it is already being used. Well, it's apparently being used by me! When I log out of everything and just enter the domain I want to use, the previously established site pops up, but I cannot gain access to it. I even followed my blog from a different email address and was notified in the right inbox. Nevertheless, when I try to log in from my inbox, using the email address the notification was sent to, I'm taken to the work I did today. This is really confusing -- and I know my explanation is confusing. Can you help?

The ultimate goal is to just use my main domain name and be able to access it with the new log in info so I can customize it.

  5. Thanks @kevkoeh - we tried them all and eventually found the one that works. Thanks for the reply.

  6. Glad it worked out @mayamassage!

@cbartelli - It is a little hard for me to sort through what all is going on there, but I'm sure we can figure it out!

"Following" is just for reading a blog's content, not managing or changing it in any way. So let's set that aside.

Can you tell me what domain name and site you're trying to log in to? It's better if I can look at something specific.

Also, I may start a private emails conversation with you to work on this. Would you please make confirm that you can receive emails at the address listed on your cbartelli account here? https://wordpress.com/#!/settings/account/
If not, please update it and click the "Save Changes" button. Thanks!

  7. We have a similar problem with a lost email address that was used to create a blog for our HOA that is still active but out of date and cant be updated because no one can access it. The one who set it up doesnt use the email address that was then used - changed ISPs - so we cant use the lost password feature. We dont have any of the original content - its just minutes of board meetings and other community info that is now out of date. How can we (the current HOA board) regain control of this website?

  8. @alihoa
No one can even begin to assist you until you post the relevant URL starting with http://

  9. I have tried this recommended solution but it didn't work since I dont have any of the proof of ownership items requested....

  10. @alihoa You could try to regain access to the @gmail.com address that's associated with that blog.

Otherwise try to remember the password and login at http://alicantehillshoa.wordpress.com/wp-admin

  11. I have a wordpress site at cyndybartelli.wordpress.com. When I enter that url I can see it, but I cannot access it. The email address I used for that account is being used for another blog, too, so I have no way of getting to it. I wish WordPress just had a phone number we could call so someone could walk me through this....

  12. @cbartelli You're logged into the wrong account. If you don't have access to your (cyndybartelli) account or forgot the password, you can request a new password over here.

  13. Several days ago, I changed my user name in the account which I thought cyndybartelli.wordpress.com was included. I also added a new blog site at that time. The email address remained the same. Now, I cannot access cyndybartelli.Wordpress.com with either the old username or the new username. When I enter the email address for access I'm automatically taken to the new blog site and cannot find any way to access cyndybartelli.wordpress.com using any of the methods you've sent to me so far.

  14. @cbartelli You renamed 'ataglanz11' to 'cbartelli'. But the 'cyndybartelli' and 'cbartelli' accounts both use a different e-mail address. Due to security reasons we can not give out the e-mail address associated with an account. Please try to remember the (other) e-mail address you used and enter this over here.

  15. At long last, I've resolved the issue. Thanks for your help.

  16. You're welcome.
