   I am not sure what exactly I did, but I can't seem to fins the edit button to the homepage
   I may of used an alt 255 code in the date section, which made the homepage not appear

   any help much appreciated

   Themes differ on if there is a link for editing your own post or page ; and where its located when you are loggin and viewing your post or page.
   I am not sure about the "Pilcrow theme".

   However if you are loggined in and viewing you own account's post or page (your home page is a page)
   you will now find an "Edit button" on the wordpress.com administrator bar.
