<description> element in RSS feed

    In WordPress.com's RSS feed, how is the <description> element for each <item> element generated? At one point, caption elements were showing up first in the description rather than the summary.

    The blog I need help with is blog.cfcausa.org.

    The description element is autofilled with a short excerpt of the post content by default.

    You can override this auto-generated excerpt by defining an explict one.
