I am in the process of setting up my blog in association with a colleague. We purchased the Magazine theme. Am having difficulty in setting up the various pages and other formatting issues. Is there a tutorial available for the theme? Need to resolve issues like "how to add more tabs next to the Home tab".

There is no tutorial for this theme. This is the description found in the Themes Showcase where there is also a live demo feature you can use. We Volunteers answering questions on this forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer in the Premium Theme Support Forum. There is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it.
By default, and "pages" you create should show up next to the "home" tab. If you want more control over what goes up there, or the order, or if you want custom links up there, then you will want to create a custom menu where you have complete control.
As far as a tutorial, you can check the theme designer's website and see what is over there, but there isn't anything here at wordpress.com. Also keep in mind that themes here are sometimes modified from their original so some features in the original design may not be in the version here, and there even could be things here that aren't in the original design.
Part of what you are paying for when you buy a premium theme is direct access to the theme team and the theme designer, and you get that in the premium support forum. You can find a link to it (have to be signed in under the username that bought the theme) by going to appearance > themes and at the top where it shows the theme you are using, there will be a link to the premium support forum.
