Make shortlink easier to access

    Currently, to get a shortlink for a post, you have to click all the way throgh edit post --> get shortlink which is clunky and counterinuitive (when I want a shortlink, I am not wanting to edit my article, I am wanting to publicise it on twitter or in an email)

    I can see that you don't want to be adding every blog posting to your shortlinks database, but it would be really handy if there was a 'get shortlink' button to be next to the 'edit post' link when viewing an article while logged in.

    Is this possible?

    I agree. It's always frustrating to go back into the edit post to get it. Always afraid of screwing something up.

    My point exactly! Very easy technical change too I'd think.

    Yes, it is possible. There was always a second way to get the shortlinks and both of you are not aware of it.

    When you are logged in, you see a horizonatal navigation bar on top. In the blog info scroll down section, you have the get shortlink option! :)

    Also, when you have an active twitter account and activated the Publicize Twitter from dashboard => my blogs, you'll get the newly published post or page's shortlink from your twitter updates. Automatically.
