Manual excerpts not showing up in home page with AutoFocus

  1. About a month ago I switched to AutoFocus, a gorgeous theme. One of it's features is a blog home page an archive arrangement of photos with a date overlay listing the date of the original post. As you mouse over each photo a post summary would appear. I recently began creating manual excerpts with each post in order to create email summaries that included photos. The downside is, I've discovered that unlike automatically generated suumaries, manual excerpts don't show up on the home page archive. If you mouse over a photo all you get is the name of photo file.

I'd like to get manual excerpts to appear when I roll over the home page archive photos. Thanks.

  2. Only some themes have active excerpt fuctions.

  4. Thanks.

I did look at the article you linked above. It seems to suggest that manual excerpts should show up on the home page archive. (AutoFocus listed as one of the exceptions to the rule that manual excerpts don't work on home page or archive pages in most themes.)

...but that still doesn't explain why it doesn't work for me. I'm considering renaming all of my photos in a post to the title of my post as a workaround (so when the archive page picks a photo and someone mouses over it they'll still at least get the title of the post).
