Maximum Size for Auto-Embeds?

  1. Hi. I can't find the "Maximum Size for Auto-Embeds" option that, according to the WordPress.com Support page, should be in the Settings -> Media page, in my Dashboard. The only options I can see are "Image sizes", "Image Gallery Carousel" and "Video player" (Free formats).

  2. Maximum displayed image width by theme > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/

  3. Thank you very much for your response. I also know that I can change the maximum size of some auto-embeds, like the ones from YouTube, with css. But, unfortunately, it doesn't answer my question. I still can not find the "Maximum Size for Auto-Embeds" option that, according to the WordPress.com Support page, should be in the Settings -> Media page, in my Dashboard. The only options I can see are "Image sizes", "Image Gallery Carousel" and "Video player" (Free formats). There is no Auto-Embeds options, as it says in the Support page. At least in my dashboard.

  4. The auto-embeds option has been moved, and I updated the support document.

This Limit Width option will only work with blogs that have the Custom Design upgrade. You can read a bit more about it on this page.

  5. Thanks for the answer. I have the custom design upgrade, but the problem with the Custom Design option is that you can't do it only for videos. If you change it, then is going to affect also full size images and shortcodes.

  6. When using a Video Shortcode (eg YouTube) it already automatically embeds the video to the maximum column width of your theme. You manually need to set the width of a video to overwrite this.

There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.
