Certain items are missing from my "new post" format, i.e. video insert from my media bar, zemanta photo offerings and optional link offerings. Tried to upload a youtube video, but can't...no way to do it. Perhaps with all the tinkering and tweeking WordPress has been doing, things that were standard got obliterated.

I'm using the Zemanta extension for Firefox and I'm not experiencing this problem. Zemanta is available as an add-on or extension for all browsers > http://www.zemanta.com/download/#dl_zemanta

I suggest that you use the youtube shortcode as it works every time for me.

Perhaps what's missing from your "media bar" editor can be accounted for by the fact that we have only a single button for uploading all media. This is the mid-November announcement: Drag & Drop Media Uploader & Flyout Dashboard Menus
