Hello,
I'm using the twenty eleven theme for my brand new blog and the meebo chat widget is included in it.
After a couple of weeks I read that meebo messenger (bought by google) will disappear mid of July.
Does someone have any idea about a free replacement widget for instant chat that I could include in this theme and how I can proceed ?

FWIW we can also use Google chatback. To use chatback you must have a Google Talk account … but your visitors don’t have to. They don’t even need to have an email address, or to have ever used instant messaging. See How to: Google Talk badge on wordpress.com

I installed everything and then I went to another session on my computer as guest.
There I see that the Google Talk account is connected. Then on my domaine1815.wordpress.com blog logged in as a guest I try to chat (the light is green) and if I click I immediately come to a support page of google without knowing what happens.
If I log out of google talk and that I try to connect I have a page saying that I'm offline which is normal...
Any idea ?

could you just go to my site and try a chat to see if you manage to ? Maybe it's just because of my computer...
Isn't Meebo new in V3.4? Maybe I missed it before 0.o
The Google chatback badge is no longer being supported by Google. Here's a quote from a Google rep:
Update from the team: Google Talk chatback badges are no longer being developed and some users may experience issues with utilizing them. We recommend removing any implementation of the badges you may have added.
I am looking for a free alternative for our wordpress.com blog, as well. Please post if you find something that works!

there are no others that we Volunteers are aware of that can be used on free hosted wordpress.com blogs.
The Chatroll is working properly but limitations in amount of users (at least if you don't want to pay), private chat not in separate window and no history in this case. Also this one cannot be embeded means it has to be open in a non wordpress window...
