Menu item skipped due to missing menu slug

  1. I'm trying to export my wordpress.com blog into a self hosted solution. I've exported my blog fine from wordpress.com using 'export' under tools. Now I want to import it into my self hosted blog but upon import it's saying 'Menu item skipped due to missing menu slug'.

I am only using the standard post type 'post' . It will not import into my new self hosted blog due to this error.

This is because the makers of the theme 'traction' decided to change the menu slug for standard posts, correct?

How to I find out what the theme 'traction' is using as a custom post menu slug without having access to the functions.php file?

The blog I need help with is homeofthesole.com.

  2. I have absolutely no idea on this and suggest you use the contact form to contact staff directly on this, or you can wait till one of the theme team wander through and (hopefully) respond.

  3. It looks like the WordPress.org version of Traction does not support custom menus, unlike the WordPress.com version of the theme.

Can you unassign the Custom Menus from the menu locations under Appearance → Menus and then try the export/import process again?
