Menus and Categories not being written - a mystery to a newb.

  1. Hello forum!

    Here's the issue:
My development site is coming along nicely: roundlakedev.sals.edu
I thought I'd be clever and test it out on roundlake.sals.edu. Here is does not save menus or categories. The roundlakedev site is fine. We are a nonprofit library, so I'm the best webmistress we can afford.

What's interesting is that I'm redeveloping the site because the categories and menus disappeared on the previous theme, and the SA thought it was because the theme was not longer supported (magazine premium). I discovered the theme works fine for other folks. :/
The obvious thing: a write permission related to the DB was changed.
My next guess: The DB is corrupted.

A very similar problem was posted HERE.

    I have:

  2. gone through the markup line by line to compare the two.
  3. created an identical setup in plugins.
  4. looked at the security settings, but don't have permission to change anything.
  5. I don't have access to the SQL server, but do have the SA in the loop.
This is fixable, but I need to know either a known solution OR a process by which I can narrow down the issues.

    Help! Help!
    Thanks!
    Tatjana

The blog I need help with is roundlake.sals.edu.
