Message 'User Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested' BUT able to enter

  1. Hi!

Starting today, I'm receiving the error message written in the title when I'm logging in on my blog. Funny thing: When clicking on my blog (link is shown in the message window) I'm able to go to my dashboard nevertheless...

Besides the fact that such messages produce an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, I (may or may not) have a problem regarding this:

I want to add another page to my blog (which should appear in the pages bar at the top of my blog) and I was able to create that page. BUT it's not shown in the pages bar... Might be that the blog theme I'm using doesn't support more than 2 pages in the bar, but I doubt that.

Any help? Is this correlated with the error message?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Edit: Same message with our company blog, which I'm administrating with another user (schneiderwulf):

User schneiderwulf Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested

You are logged in as "schneiderwulf" and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for "WordPress.com". If you are not "schneiderwulf", please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are "schneiderwulf" and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.

If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.

Same behaviour: I'm able to enter the dashboard nonetheless.

  3. We have had a few reports of this same issue. Can you try this in the latest version of Firefox or Chrome and see if you get the same result?

    Cheers!

  4. Checked with the latest version of Firefox about 1 hour ago, same message.

    I'm not using Chrome.

    With best regards

  5. BTW I was able to implement the new page to my blog so it seems that it's 'just' an irrelevant error message without any further consequences.

  6. We've had reports of this happening with our Germany-based users. We're investigating!

As long as you can continue to log in, we'll leave it at that until a fix is deployed - which should just make sure you don't get that message anymore.

However, if you experience any other bizarre things popping up, please let us know!

    Thank you so much.

  7. Thanks for your answer! If anything strange happens, I'll let you know.
