  1. Hi, Ive been trying to add meta tags into my blog through the HTML coding but every time i save it disappears

  2. This is the support forum that's only for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. We can't access meta data on free hosted WordPress.com blogs at all. You must be referring to a self hosted WordPress.org install. http://wordpress.org/support/ is the support forum link for those with WordPress.org installs.
    WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

While we are at it: Does Google ever use the "keywords" meta tag in its web search ranking? The answer is "no".

    Thanks for your help

  4. I'm telling you that you cannot access the meta data files on free hosted wordpress.com blogs and edit them. Only Staff can. This is a multiuser blogging platform. Every blog here wearing same theme is using the same underlying template. For clarity read: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Setting that side, if you think that you can get a WordPress.org install and edit meta data and also use SEO plugins and best the SEO on a WordPress.com free hostde blog with idenetical contents think again. Been there - doine that and WordPress.com wins hands down. I recommend that you simply focus on your on page and off page SEO and forget that metadata.

There's a special process for verifying your WordPress.com blog ownership with the major search engines and so other other one will work. http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
