Migrate followers from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

    Hello. I recently moved my blog for http://ddbdoglady.wordpress.com to the self-hosted link above. Also purchased the $13.00 redirect. I have the Jetpack plug in installed and connected to WordPress.com. Question is, do my blog followers and email subscribers get transferred automatically? They are not showing up on the new site. Please advise. This is the link for followers:

    Do I have to email all those subscribed that way? I made a post on the old blog, directing people to the new blog, but, that page isn't found any longer. Thanks in advance.

    The blog I need help with is thedogladysden.com.

    Hi there,

    We can transfer your email subscribers (only) from WordPress.com to WordPress.org for you. You will need to have your .com site still active, and it looks like you're already set up with Jetpack.

    Could you confirm the URL for your self-hosted site?

    Thanks. The new WordPress.org URL is http://thedogladysden.com
    I guess the "Follow in a reader" function is available to WordPress.com users only? Pity! Appreciate the help, nonetheless.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate. WordPress.org installs are are stand alone software installs for self hosting. There is no WordPress.org community with shared features like the Reader which we have here at WordPress.com.

    Thanks for the explanation. It was a bit confusing. Shame to lose the readership, but they can join in other ways.

    Actually, a different staff member has been saying that your WP.com reader subscribers are also transferred too. I don't know what to think.

    We have transferred your subscribers!

    We've been working on the transfer tool, and now we're able to transfer email and Reader subscribers. This is a pretty new development!
