Missing comments in "recent comments" widget...

  1. Hello all.

There have been reports of comments not appearing in the "recent comments" widget box. We are aware of the problem and are working on it.

There are also reports of the comments widget ignoring the display limitation. That is being looked into as well.

My apologies for any trouble. Please subscribe to this thread for updates on the situation.

  2. This issue should now be resolved. Please post here if you are still having issues.

  3. It isn't resolved on my blog

  4. Still having problems....on both my blogs.

I'm still having problems. Thank you for looking into the issue.

  6. Still many WordPress sites showing the 'There are no public comments available to display' message.

  7. i still have this problem in this blog:

    http://siomnesegononblog.wordpress.com/

  8. The comments appear only when I'm logged.

  9. Same here. Only show comments for unprotected page if I'm log in. Any protected page's comment will not show at all regardless I am log in or not.

  10. Problem isn't resolved. Comments are only showing while I'm logged in.

  11. In the German support forums there are still user reporting this problem!

  12. Yesterday WP just stopped displaying mycomments .Then thwey started askinf for a new password. although they had accepted the one I had for a week or so.I have a new computet and chaged the display to Kaarin333 with accompnying email [email redacted].
WP even sent me a congratulation to this e-mail "You are in". Alas things did not work.I now have a password for Kaarin333, and the above mentined e-ail which was accepted at sign in.Still no result. Naturally this left me rather confused.Kaarin333

  13. I am a longtime blogger with permalink on VMJ. As result of a new compuer I had to change my displayname. Have used the gmail as email for some tome and received messages from you. They only led tosome pages with little to do with the problem at hand. You do have my corrct e-mail as you sent messages there. Finally I once used my twitter account, but dont like it as it displays my full real name.
    Yours sincerely R.Schildt

I am having the same problem

  16. The problem persists. When i m logged in I can see the recent comments roll in my blog and thats all ( avatars are turned off from my dashboard ) . When logged off I can see no comments , just the title i gave to the widget from my dashboard. Yesterday we could read the message "no public comments available to display" . Now thiw message does not show .

Same problems with many other WP blogs in Greece , some of them very popular

    Problem persists

  19. deepakiforu14 "copied" my last post here

Should I call you Snowden , because there is no profile of yours available ... )

  20. My WordPress site is still showing the 'There are no public comments available to display' message while all comments can be seen.

  21. the message "no public comments available to display" just came back to some WP blogs I read

  22. I'm still having problems with the recent comments widget; I've been getting the "There are no public comments available to display" message. I can see comments only when I'm signed in.

    My blog is http://thepracticalpsychosomaticist.com/

    Thanks for working on it.

  23. The list with recent comments is only shown on my own blogs and when I'm logged in at WordPress (which I normally don't):
    http://ximaar.wordpress.com

It seems to be another facebook-stalking-trick by which visitors are forced to be registered and logged-in so they can be followed and exploited by WordPress.com.

Hopefully I'm wrong and this problem will be solved soon.

  24. It's also affecting wordpress.org blogs. As a random example ...

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/

is everyone who uses the WP software affected then or is it sporadic? Kind of massively inconvenient anyhow.

I am still having the same problem. The widget says there are public comments when they can clearly be seen in the posts.

If I log in to my site then the widget displays them as before.

  26. To worldpress, I never received a code. Plese send it to my e-mail address.I have blogged nearly 4 years on VMJ. Now with new computer my codename and e-mail changed.I get too much mail, medical and NYTimes etc. I do not need to overflow my mail and computer with your suggesions. Once you re-instate me I will see.
    Sincerely yours
    R.Schildt

  27. Why did you repeatedly ask for change of password. Even sent my e-mail, congrats that I am in. No change followed. This constant changing of password confuses not only bloggers but you too.

  28. It isn't resolved on vindicatemj.wordpress.com either. Comments are displayed only if I am logged in.

  29. Although I can see the recent comments on my own blog, several readers have told me this morning they see none. So I guess it's still unresolved on my blog too.

  30. Still a problem here: http://appliedunificationism.com/
