Mistylook Theme: Show Description Below Link

  1. When I go to "Edit Links", there is a space titled "Description" that says "This will be shown when someone hovers over the link in the blogroll, or optionally below the link." Currently, the description text shows when hovering over the link, and I want it to be shown below the link (and not when you hover). I have searched and searched for an answer, but it seems that usually the default is the description showing next to the link, and most questions are asking how to remove the description text (whereas I want it to show). I'm using the "mistylook" theme. Can anyone help me?

    The blog I need help with is craftychemist.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry to say that that'd require changing the theme code itself, and, as you don't have access to the HTML here at WordPress.com that's not possible.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

  3. You can use a combination of copy/paste and typing in a text widget to add a description of your blog-roll links. You'll have to repeat at least part of the process when you add a new link.
    Put your blogroll links widget temporarily in sidebar.
    Looking at your source code, you'll find a list of links and titles, something like this:

    <ul>
    <li><a href="URL_1" title="DESCRIPTIVE_TITLE" target="_blank">BLOG_NAME</a></li>
    li><a href="URL_2" title="DESCRIPTIVE_TITLE" target="_blank">BLOG_NAME</a></li>
    …and so on…

    Copy that list and past it into a draft post or page (in html editor).
    Type in descriptions for each blog-link on the list, adding line breaks:

    <ul>
    <li><a href="URL_1" title="DESCRIPTIVE_TITLE" target="_blank">BLOG_NAME</a>
    <br />YOUR_OWN_DESCRIPTION_HERE</br></li>
    li><a href="URL_2" title="DESCRIPTIVE_TITLE" target="_blank">BLOG_NAME</a>
    <br />YOUR_OWN_DESCRIPTION_HERE</br></li>
    …and so on…

    Save draft so you can add to it as needed. Copy html into a text widget.
    Remove the blogroll links widget.
