More Tag deletes my images - why?

    I want to insert a More Tag below an image, so the image is what shows in the post preview. I tried to insert the tag after an image in both the Visual and HTML views, and in both cases it made the image invisible, instead showing up as the post title and then Continue Reading. I took the More Tag out and now the full post shows, but the original first image will not. I deleted the image from the HTML and then re-posted it from my Gallery, but still it won't show up. The More Tag is not in the code nor on the visual that I can see, so I have no idea why it's doing this.

    Can anyone help me? I want to make my post how it was with the first image showing up, but I'd also like to find a way to make this image show in the More Tag preview too.

    I seem to have reinstated that image, but I'm still trying to figure out a way to have an image before the More Tag.

    You need to edit your post and in the Excerpt box below the Write Post box, put in the code of the post up to and after the image. The HTML code, not just a copy-paste from the visual editor.

    Sorry, where is the Excerpt box? I don't seem to see it in the Edit Post screen.

    @rain: Piano Black doesn't support custom excerpts.

    @fbclotro: The main page should display the content of the post up to the point where you insert the more tag. Try again; if you still get erratic results, leave them on so we can check what's wrong.

    Thanks. You were right, justpi. I did the exact same thing again, and now it works. Erratic indeed. As you suggested if it happens again I'll leave it and post in the forums. Thank you again.

    You're welcome.
    I've never heard of such an issue with the more tag: it was probably just a temporary glitch.
