Move Left Sidebar to Bottom of Page

  1. I was wondering if there is a way to move the left sidebar to the bottom?

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is everythingppm.com.

  2. Given this is a responsive width theme, moving the sidebar around can introduce problems and cause the site to blow up when viewed on a narrower screen such as a smartphone or tablet. Also since the content area can vary in height considerably due to differences in post length or number of posts displayed, not to mention the sidebar can vary in length, it becomes a major challenge to come up with a way to make this work cleanly.

  5. So you'd better use a theme that supports footer widgets.

  6. It's possible to move widget areas around but it's true that it will take a bit more work to keep them looking nice in all possible responsive layouts. Here is a basic set of CSS that you can start experimenting with:

    .right-sidebar #primary,
    .left-sidebar #primary {
    	width: 100%;
    }
    #tertiary {
    	width: 100%;
    	margin-top: 40px;
    }

    #tertiary .widget {
    	margin-left: 20px;
    	position: relative;
    	float: left;
    	width: 240px;
    	clear: none;
    }

    That should give you a good base to go forward from, and you should experiment with the CSS and also experiment with rearranging the widgets.

    If you want to get more in-depth or if you run into trouble with the responsive layout or any other more in-depth design issues, you should consider hiring a designer to help you. Here is one we recommend in case that's something you're interested in checking out:
