Move TypePad blog to WordPress, what about URL?
-
I am planning to migrate a rather popular blog (150,000 pageviews per month) from TypePad to WordPress. However, while importing all my previous posts I noticed that this gives a problem with the URL’s.
When my TypePad URL is: http://www.xxx.com/2009/10/damn-you-typepad.html
In WordPress this becomes: http://www.xxx.com/2009/10/08/damn-you-typepad/
So WordPress adds the day and does not use the html extension.
Is there any way to fix this? Considering the many incoming links I have to keep the same URL’s if not my site is dead of course.
Thanks a lot

Um, FYI this looks like it’s specific to WordPress.ORG and doesn’t work for WordPress.COM which is what’s supported in this forum. Can you clarify that it works for WordPress.com?
